I hatched a batch of chickens using the Nurture Right 360 incubator. Here is my complete review of the incubator, including my final hatch rate.

Nurture Right 360 Incubator Review

If you aren't yet aware, there are a plethora of incubators on the market. From high-end techy ones, all the way down to super simple ones that look a bit sketchy.

It can be overwhelming when trying to choose one! I have had the opportunity to use this Harris Farms Incubator.

This is my complete review of the Nurture Right 360 Incubator broken down by each of it's many features, and what I think of it overall.

Nurture Right 360 Incubator Features

Here are all the features of this incubator with my scoring, and a detailed explanation.

  1. Forced Air Heat
  2. Humidity Control
  3. Candling Light
  4. Automatic Egg Turner
  5. Safety Features

Forced Air Heating - Score 10

The Nurture Right Incubator is heated by an electric element, and has a fan to force the heat into the incubator.

There is also a thermostat in the system which keeps it at whatever heat you need.

Nurture Right 360 Heat Reading

I tested the heating feature of the incubator by using multiple thermometers. All my thermometers lined up perfectly with the reading on the incubator.

There was also perfect heat distribution throughout the incubator, because of the fan. This incubator gets a 10/10 on heating!

Humidity Control - Score 9

The incubator has a reservoir in the bottom with external filling holes. There are two water reservoirs.

The "A" reservoir is filled for the first 18 days, while the "B" reservoir is used during the last three days to increase humidity.

Once the temperature stabilized, I adjusted the vent on the incubator hood until the humidity was at the right level.

It was very easy to get the humidity levels right, but it is a manual process. The incubator must be monitored every 24 hours to refill the reservoir and adjust the vent.

It is very easy to keep the humidity at the right level, but if you are forgetful your humidity levels might suffer. Easy to use, but requires manual humidity control 9/10.

Candling Light - Score 10

The Nurture Right 360 comes with a built in candling light. This light was way better than I though it would be!

The light is very bright, and the eggs rest perfectly on the light without damaging them.

I used this light as the only candling device for my entire incubation. Just look how easy it was to see the chick inside! 10/10

Automatic Egg Turner - Score 10

Some incubators leave the process of turning eggs up to you. This incubator turns the eggs automatically, so you don't have to do it 3 times a day.

The eggs rest in the white disk which moves a few times each day to keep the eggs turned. This prevents the chick from sticking to the egg shell which can stop development.

Having this automatic turner means you don't have to open the incubator every day, so the heat stays stable for longer periods, which can lead to a better hatch rate.

I don't think I could incubate eggs without an automatic turner, and this one worked seamlessly 10/10.

Safety Features - Score 9

The Nurture Right 360 will alert you if the temperature drops for a period of time. While this is a great feature it is LOUD!

Even if you keep the incubator open too long it will sound the alarm. The good news is you can turn it off by pressing a button.

I wish the incubator also had a humidity alarm, but I guess I didn't need one as the humidity never dropped too low. 9/10 on Safety Features.

My Hatch Rate With The Nurture Right 360 Incubator

I was shipped a total of 14 chicken eggs. My post office didn't call when my eggs arrived, so they were in the mail longer than I had wished.

Even though they were cold when I got them, I had a 50% hatch rate with a total of 7 healthy chicks hatching!

A 50% hatch rate is considered good for shipped eggs as the shipping process stresses the eggs.

Each chick was happy and healthy after hatching, and each hatched without any assistance. Now they are off to my brooder.

This incubator gives you a 360o view of the eggs. Watching the chicks break their eggs open was amazing to watch.

Overall Rating Of The Nurture Right 360 Incubator

This incubator is a perfect middle of the road incubator that is well built and easy to use.

The instructions were very helpful and gave detailed incubating instructions. The 360o view allowed us to watch the entire hatching process.

This incubator has all the necessary features to give you a great hatch! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to hatch their own chickens.
