Do you have someone on your list that loves their chickens? Maybe even you are raising your own backyard chickens and you need some gift ideas. Look no farther because here is a unique list of gifts for people who love chickens.

Egg holder
While store bought eggs do come in cardboard cartons storing your eggs in these is not a great idea. They often break down quickly and then you wind up with broken eggs on your floor... Yuck!
You actually don't even need to refrigerate your hen's eggs. You can store them right on top of the counter and they will still be safe. They do not last as long on the counter top ,so I do refrigerate my eggs.
This is the organizer I use for my eggs and I love the fact that the oldest eggs get used up first with this style! I stack two of these on top of each other to hold all of our eggs.

If you know someone who likes to keep their eggs on their counter top you could also get them this egg spiral. These will also allow you to use up the oldest eggs first.
Egg Collecting Basket
To make egg collecting easier , you can get your chicken lover an egg basket. Wire baskets or woven baskets will work for collecting eggs from the coop.
If they are into making things with their hands you could even buy them a basket weaving kit, so they can make their own basket! I made the below basket and you can find basket making kits here.

If they have a lot of chickens, you will need to buy them a large egg basket. A Maine Garden Hod would do the job wonderfully. Here is my review of the Maine Garden Hod.

Books about chickens
I love having reference books so that I can look up information when I need to. I find this especially helpful when I am raising chicks. (disclaimer - I may not agree with all statements made in the following books)

Storey's guide to raising chickens - is a great book and I recommend it for everyone raising chickens. It teaches you everything about chicken keeping all the way from egg to hen and even meat birds!
Keeping Chickens - Another great book with a lot of information about the different breeds of chickens and their origins. This book is great for both experienced and newbie chicken keepers.
Fresh Eggs Daily - Written by Lisa Steele - another good book even for the experienced chicken keeper. This book gives natural remedies and explains how you can use herbs to keep your chickens healthy.
Chicken Weathervane
If you know someone who has a coop that would look great with a weathervane, then they will love this weather vane with a rooster on it.
Treats for the hens
Every chicken keeper loves giving their hens some treats. If you are getting a Christmas gift then these black soldier fly larvae would make the perfect gift.
When protein is scarce in the winter feeding chickens mealworms helps them to stay healthy.
Coop signs
Adding signs to your chicken coop can be really fun. I have a few signs on my coop that I really like. You can find many different signs here.

A Devilled Egg Holder
In the spring time we have so many eggs that we can hardly use them all up. To help with this we like to make many different egg dishes. Devilled eggs are really tasty and this platter is made just for them.
Bend Soap
Bend Soap Company makes goat milk soap bars with a great ingredient list of safe all natural products. These soaps are great to wash up with after you have cleaned the chicken coop out and they are gentle on your skin!

Bend Soap Company also makes lotions, scrubs, salves, and other products. For a great value you can buy one of their pre-built gift sets.
Chicken Keeping Journal
When I first started keeping chickens I made my own charts and graphs to track my hens egg laying habits. Having a journal to keep track of egg laying, hens, diets, finances, and other things is great.
You can either get them this chicken keeping journal or buy them a leather bound journal like this one, so they can make their own graphs and charts.
A Handmade Pencil Pouch
If you are buying them a chicken keeping journal why not buy them a pencil pouch! Buying them a pencil pouch and journal would make the perfect gift set!

This Etsy shop creates pencil pouches, wet bags, and other products all by hand in the USA. I have even visited this shop and watched them make these bags and they are high quality! Support a small business and buy something from their Etsy shop here.
Metal Chicken Feed Scoops
Metal feed scoops are very durable which make them great in the chicken coop because they will get used daily. This scoop along with some of the other items on this list would make a great gift basket!
Boiled Egg Holder
With all the extra fresh eggs from the hens, you will be cooking them in every way imaginable. To keep our boiled eggs separate we use a ceramic egg holder like this one to hold our eggs. As you can imagine keeping the boiled eggs separate is really important.

A Mirror
Stick with me on this one. Chickens can get really bored in the winter and that can lead to many problems. To keep them entertained I use these boredom busting tricks.
One way to keep your chickens from boredom is by adding a mirror to their coop. The chickens will love looking at themselves in the mirror. I am sure the chickens would appreciate this fancy mirror in their coop (LOL).
Make a Chicken Treat Mix
If you want to make a handmade gift this season making a chicken treat mix is a great idea! Feeding whole grains to your chickens in the winter months will keep them warm, so chicken keepers will appreciate the extra feed. You can learn how to make a homemade chicken treat mix here.
